The beach is not far from the built-up area and is located 3.5 km southeast of Capdepera and 5.5 km from Cala Ratjada. It is 290m long and 80m wide. It stands out because of its golden sand and its habitual tranquillity, as it is rarely heavy populated with tourists. Its facilities include a lifeguard post, water sports, showers, sun-beds, parasols and two bars/restaurants situated immediately on the beach itself, where you can enjoy your meal right by the sea. Access to the beach is easy and car parking can usually be found in the streets close by. The beach is accessible for the handicapped. It lies next to the protected wetlands at the mouth of the Canyamel stream, which feature a wide range of flora and fauna. Just 500m distant are the famous grottoes of the Caves of Artà, which are well worth a visit.
